I'm delighted to be joining Warwickshire Open Studios again in 2023.
It will be great fun to work together while we welcome visitors over two weekends.
I shall be exhibiting in a large group of 20 artists, at "Alexandra Arts", which will be
in the ex-Pub, The Alexandra Tavern, 72-73 James Street, Rugby, CV21 2SL, which
has been turned into an Arts Centre.
The group will include work in textiles, illustration, painting, ceramics, glass,
jewellery, printmaking, sculpture and photography, so there will be plenty of
variety, with all sorts of work to see and buy.
We shall be open on Thursday 22nd - Sunday 25th June, and
Thursday 29th June - Sunday 2nd July
Thursdays 12 - 8, Fridays - Sundays 10 - 4.
Next to the John Barford & Railway Terrace Car Parks.
Cafe & Garden. Entrance free.
Open Studios can be both hard work and rewarding - it gives me the chance
to show more of my work than is usually possible at an Exhibition, but also
some work in progress, and the sketchbooks I use to plan work.
I've found that these are all welcomed by visitors, who like to ask questions
about media and techniques, as well as hearing about the stories behind the pictures.
I try to demonstrate at times when visitors come - although it isn't always easy to
concentrate, I think that visitors do appreciate the experience.
Warwickshire Open Studios in June/July is an annual event, giving free
admission to venues across the county, often with over 400 local artists and
designer makers, so there's plenty to see
I always enjoy the time, welcoming new visitors and talking to some old
friends as well.
