I'm currently in the planning stages of a new paper cut, working out how to portray a beautiful mute swan I saw at Slimbridge.

He was making a territorial display with his wings, lifting them up to make himself look larger and more imposing. The light was falling over his feathers, and it was all reflected in the water below - I'm going to attempt to show all that if I can.

I've been sketching the bird from my film and photographs, and making a paper model to work out how the wings fold.
I plan to collage and curve the paper, making the image slightly three-dimensional.
