Last weekend I was on a course with friends from The Wildlife Art Society
International, learning how to add gold leaf to embellish paintings, at the
Nature in Art Museum near Gloucester.
Claudia Hahn taught us all about using this interesting addition to our work,
and we all had a go at using it - we soon found out that putting it in place
was nowhere as easy as Claudia made it look!
I decided that it could enhance my work, but only in small doses, I think it
would be very easy to overdo the effect.
I was quite pleased with the effect behind a butterfly that I'd painted in
watercolour, but I shall need to paint back in the butterfly's antennae and
check the edges.
Overall, though, I was quite pleased with the results.
