Last week I was delighted to discover that four of my Papercuts have earnt me
The Christopher Parsons Award for artistic excellence at The Wildlife Art Society
International's Annual Exhibition.

The four works have to be based on a theme, and I chose "Collective names for
Groups of Birds" - A Charm of Goldfinches, A Mischief of Magpies, A Murmuration
of Starlings, and A Commotion of Coots.

I had great fun working out the link between the birds, and researching the various
names that flocks are called by.
Simplifying the shapes of birds and backgrounds allows the papercuts to work,
and I really enjoy working in this medium.
